Here’s my review for my horror feature script, ‘The Manchineel Killer’, from SCREENCRAFT!
I’m not happy about the score this time, but the notes are very promising.
I’m relieved that I executed the narrative successfully, as it was a hard piece to put together… as to make a horror out of it, yet give the viewer a sense of reality and have them embrace the darkness…
I’m stoked that I hit that mark!
Obsession, love, loneliness, addiction… are just the few themes I have focused on…
Writing it in a consistently stylized manner was to demonstrate my creative imagination and make this horror as a piece of art…
It tickles me that they loved the opening scene, which I bring full circle.
I do wish they gave more feedback for the characters. I would have loved to hear a more in-depth opinion on the narrative, but as they say…no word is usually a good thing…
I feel I can celebrate this review and can relax more knowing the script needs a little more work, but not a lot…
Another go at it and I hope then it will be competition worthy!
Polish, polish, polish!
Cheers to a great weekend of celebrating getting over the hurdles!
